Nandi Hill, A perfect Weekend Gateway from Bangalore

Nandi hills is one of the best place to make your boring weekend interesting. It is only 60-65 Km from Bangalore (depending on which place in Bangalore you are staying). This is a place where you can go, stay for 2-4 hours and again return to your den in the same day, So you can consider this as weekend gateway or picnic spot with same day return.

How to Reach:

As the road condition is good, so you can take personal car/bike/hired car. However you can reach by public transport/bus also. Go to Chikballapur and from there take a private bus to the Nandi Hills. The buses leave every half an hour and it takes about 2 hours to reach the hill. People can also do trekking or bicycle tour.

Best Time to visit Nandi Hill:

In Bangalore and its surroundings the monsoon is between June-August, there may be moderate rainfall in those days. However in rainy days, while climbing the stairs at Nandi Hillis, you will be almost above cloud. It feels awesome.

My family

The best time to visit in September- February (winter). The average temperature will be 12-18 degree Celsius.

Places to Eat at Nandi Hill:

Above the Nandi hills, there are not many options to eat. However snacks e.g. Tea/coffee, toast, biscuits, cold drinks are available. So plan accordingly for your food (breakfast/lunch)

Nandi Hills for Kids:

Kids will definitely enjoy the location. If you are going in winter, don’t forget to take necessary woolens as temperature will be 2-3 degree less than Bangalore. There are a lot of monkeys, so keep that in mind while moving around with kids. If you want to know how to plan a tour with Kids, Please read ” How to plan your tour.
