The Top 5 places to see in Srinagar are
Dal Lake & Shikara Ride:
Dal Lake is the most beautiful attraction in Srinagar. It is known as “Jewel in the Kashmir’s Crown” and Srinagar’s Crown. The lake covers approx. 18 Square Kilometers (6.9 Sq. Mi) is part of a natural wetland which covers 21.1 square kilometers (8.1 sq Mi), including its floating gardens. The floating gardens, known as “Rad” in Kashmiri, blossom with lotus flowers during July and August.
The scenic view of the lake can be best viewed from boulevard road. The colorful Shikara rides in the dal lake at the time of Sun Set will be an unforgettable memory for you. The Shikara will cost 400-500 for one Shikara for 1 Hour (August 2017 rate), but it will also depends on the season and bargaining power of you.

In the Shikara Ride, you can view the Floating Garden, Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Botanical Gardens, Floating cafe, Mughal’s Palace, vegetable firming in the Dal Lake (the same vegetables are sold in the morning at Floating market of Dal Lake). People will come in Shikara to see you various item, from kebabs to flower, from jewelry to Handcrafted items.
Pari Mahal or The Angels’ Abode is a garden located at the top of Zabarwan mountain range over-looking city of Srinagar and south-west of Dal Lake. The architecture portrays an example of Islamic architecture and patronage of art during the rule of the then Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. It is five-minute drive from Cheshmashahi, Srinagar.
You can witnessed the top view of Srinagar city along with Dal Lake, Golf course etc.
Cheshm- e- Shahi is the smallest Mughal garden in Srinagar. It has one Royal Spring. Local people believed (Our Driver told) that the water of the spring can cure all types of cold, throat problem etc. He also told that Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru used to drink that water.
The park is surrounded by hills and it has fountains, waterfalls and many kinds of rare species of plants to see.
The Shankaracharya Temple:
The Shankarcharya is situated on the top of the Shankaracharya hill in the Zabarwan Mountain in Srinagar, Kashmir. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is on the summit of the same name at a height of 1,000 feet above the plain and overlooks the city of Srinagar.
Here you will not be allowed to carry camera, mobile etc.
It is one of the most beautiful Mughal garden in Srinagar. It is situated beside Dal Lake. You can witnessed here various kind of Plants, Flowers, springs and fountains like other Mughal Gardens.
